China's automobile production sales declined from the previous year showed faster growth year-on-year, of which new energy vehicles automobile exports continued to maintain rapid growth year-on-year.

Monthly car sales

In April 2024, automobile production sales accomplished 2.406 million units 2.359 million units respectively, down 10.5% 12.5% YoY, up 12.8% 9.3% YoY.

From January to April 2024, the production sales of automobiles amounted to 9.012 million units 9.079 million units respectively, up 7.9% 10.2% year-on-year.

Monthly Fuel Vehicle Sales

In April 2024, the production sales of fuel vehicles completed 1,536,000 units 1,509,000 units respectively, down 16% 177% from a year earlier, up 3% down 1% from a year earlier.

From January to April 2024, the production sales of fuel vehicles completed 6,025,000 units 6,137,000 units respectively, down 0.4% up 2% from the same period last year.

Monthly Sales of New Energy Vehicles

In April 2024, the production sales of new energy vehicles were completed at 870,000 850,000 respectively, up 35.9% 33.5% year-on-year.

According to the analysis of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), in April 2024, automobile exports maintained rapid growth year-on-year.

In April 2024, automobile exports increased by 504,000 units, up 0.4% from a year earlier 34% year-on-year.

From January to April 2024, automobile exports 1.827 million units, up 33.4% year-on-year.

In April 2024, 390,000 units of conventionally fueled vehicles were exported, up 3.3% from the previous month up 41.6% from the previous year.

In January-April 2024, 1.407 million conventional fuel vehicles were exported, up 37.7% year-on-year.

In April 2024, exports of new energy vehicles amounted to 114,000 units, down 8.6% from a year earlier up 13.3% year-on-year.

In January-April 2024, 421,000 new energy vehicles were exported, up 20.8% year-on-year.
